For better or worse, and in this case very much for the better, Pollinator, the latest album, and the third to be released in the 2000’s by Deborah Harry and Blondie, just might be their best effort in the last 10 years.

The opener “Doom or Destiny” featuring backing vocals from Joan Jett could have been from the CBGB glory years, and “Long Time” could have been on the b side of the “Heart of Glass”  single. They sound just like Blondie.

The production value is slick and glossy with contemporary collaborations with Charli XCX on “Gravity” and Johnny Marr on “My Monster.”

There is not a bad cut on this record. If you are looking for a hot tub time machine trip back to a simpler time, Pollinator Just might be your jam.
