The original Soul Clan was a soul supergroup that was formed in 1966 by Solomon Burke with Wilson Pickett, Don Covay, Otis Redding, and Joe Tex. This loose collective of superstars, tragically, never did find their way into the studio with the death of Otis Redding in 1967.

The group reformed in 1968 and with Wilson Pickett leaving over business differences they released a single, “Soul Meeting” on Atlantic Records with a line up that included Solomon Burke, Joe Tex, Ben E. King, Don Covey, and Arthur Conley.

The B side of the single was “That’s How I Feel.”
