The Dirty Dozen – The Falcon’s Nest Weekend Playlist (April 18, 2015)
Posted by falconi5 on April 20, 2015
This weekend’s playlist was pretty much of a mixed bag with some new songs from The Ruen Brothers along with some old School and new school Michael Schenker. Here are twelve of the songs that were on our radar.
Ruen Brothers – Motor City
Taking a listen to Point Dume the new E.P. from the Ruen Brothers. Motor City is the best of the lot, but all four of the songs are pretty special.
Chris Whitley – Big Sky Country
Chris Whitley is one of those just under the radar guys that really should be better known. An extremely underrated guitar play, Whitley mixes Blues, Folk, Rock and killer guitar work in the JJ Cale mold. Keith passed away in 2005 from lung Cancer.
U.F.O – Too Hot to Handle
With Michael Schenker on Saturday’s That Metal Show it seemed only reasonable to crank up the album that is severely underrated when it comes to discussing best live Rock albums of the 70’s. So we cranked up Strangers in the night.
Michael Schenkers Temple of Rock – Vigilante Man
And then again there is Michael’s throw back band Temple of Rock. Good old school 70’s Rock.
Rival Sons – As Long as I Can See the Light
Rival Sons with an acoustic cover of the underappreciated Creedence tune.
Ozzy Osbourne – Mr. Crowley
Randy Rhodes at his absolute best.
Shooter Jennings – The Gunslinger
Zella Day – 1965
Florence and the Machine light, Zella Day is a Rock Chick on the rise.
The Dunwells – Lucky Ones
The much anticipated Dunwells record is finally out, and we are listening to it. Over and Over.
The Sheepdogs – Feeling Good
Going old school 70’s with the new school Sheepdogs.
Frankie Ballard – It Don’t Take Much
We are trying pretty hard not to like this fresh faced Country singer, but so far we are failing.
Whitey Morgan – Waiting Around to Die
The new album doesn’t come out until May 19th, but we have this one in the mean time. So we will just play it over and over again.
