    • Watch: John Carpenter - “Utopian Façade” Video
Iconic horror film director John Carpenter released Lost Themes II back in April via Sacred Bones, a sequel to his 2015-released Lost Themes album. Now he has shared a video for "Utopian Façade." Befitting the director, it features a female android in a TRONmeets Storm Trooper type outfit on the run from some zombies and other monsters.
    • Watch: New Order - “People on the High Line” Video
Last September New Order released Music Complete, their excellent first studio album in a decade, their first for their new label Mute, and the first not to feature founding member Peter Hook (but it saw the return of founding member Gillian Gilbert).
    • Listen: Temples Share New Song - “Certainty”
British psychedelic pop quartet Temples released their promising debut album, Sun Structures, back in 2014. Now the band has shared a brand new song, "Certainty," which is the first taste of their sophomore album and sits more on the pop side of their psych pop equation.
    • Remember Us to Life
For die-hard fans, it has been four long years since the release of What We Saw from the Cheap Seats, Regina Spektor's sixth and most recent studio album. (Catchy as her intro to Orange is the New Black might be, it just doesn't fill the void that a new album from the Soviet-born singer/songwriter does.)
    • Starving the Beast
The snarl of James Carville to open Starving the Beast, as he addresses his alma mater of Louisiana State University, frames the appropriate degree of impassioned opposition to the commoditization of America’s public higher educational institutions.
    • Valley of the Dolls & Beyond the Valley of the Dolls
In certain cinephile circles, the reputation of Mark Robson’s Valley of the Dolls, based on the novel by Jacqueline Susann, precedes itself.
    • Bob’s Burgers (Season 7, Episode 1: “Flu-ouise”)
As season seven (!) of the most warm-hearted comedy on TV begins, the writers drift from what makes the show so good (its relationships between the Belcher family and the secondary characters) and toward a more Simpsons-y gag of a literal fever dream. But because the writing team is so good, "Flu-ouise" still sings—and quite literally.
    • Check Out a Gallery of Photos of Lush at Their Washington DC 9:30 Club Show on Wednesday
1990s shoegaze legends Lush recently reformed and released a great new EP, Blind Spot, in April. This year the band have also been playing their first U.S. shows in 20 years.
    • DIANA Announce New Album, Share “Confession”
Back in 2013 Canadian band DIANA successfully built on the buzz of their acclaimed 2012 single "Born Again" with their debut album, Perpetual Surrender, released on Jagjaguwar.
    • Simon Franglen, composer for The Magnificent Seven & The Voyage of Time
Two very different films, Antoine Fuqua's remake of The Magnificent Seven and Terrence Malick's new documentary The Voyage of Time, have one direct through line joining them together. Simon Franglen composed music for both. The films debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival between September 8-18 with two versions of the Malick documentar […]

    • Album Stream: Sam Evian - 'Premium' September 26, 2016
“An analogue dream in a digital world...”Sam Evian thrives on places where opposites intersect. As a songwriter, he describes his music as “an analogue dream in a digital world” and that comes close to his approach. Lyrically, he fuses the universal with the personal, statements with grand societal sweep to rather more minute, introverted observations. New a […]

    • The Wytches Write For Clash September 26, 2016
Strap yourselves in for a bumpy ride...Autumn is rapidly descending, and it's time for the wytch-ing hour. The Wytches recently unveiled new cut 'C-Side', and it could well be their strongest single yet: stark, gothic, yet also boasting the sort of nagging ear-worm melody that stays lodged in your mind for days. Clash invited the band to pen s […]
    • Premiere: Ghost 'Nameless Ghoul' Deezer Close Up September 26, 2016
Creepy catch up with 'Ghost' discussing some unexpected favourite tracks...Ghost have quickly become a Scandivian heavy metal bethemoth, they make pop hyms that glorify and glamourise the disgusting and sacriliegious. Their 2015 release 'Circe' won a Grammy award for Best Metal Performance earlier this year and their stage show is a sight […]
    • Influences: Boxed In September 26, 2016
Oli Bayston reveals the sounds that underpin 'Melt'...Boxed In have never been an easy project to pin down. Essentially an expression of the imagination of Oli Bayston, Boxed In can veer from psychedelic abandon to introverted solitude, often within the space of the same song. New album 'Melt' is a courageous step forward, a brave, confid […]

    • Track Of The Day 26/9 - Judas September 26, 2016
'Love Is The Enemy'If Judas seem familiar it's perhaps because they've crossed your path this summer. The newcomers have literally been everywhere: a surprise set on Soccer AM was followed by a trip to the Isle Of Wight (where Clash caught them), before a last minute pull out pushed Judas onto the main stage at Leeds Festival. Racing acro […]
    • Premiere: John Southworth - 'Second Childhood' September 26, 2016
Maverick songwriter returns...John Southworth has always seemed like a man out of time. The UK-born, Canadian-raised artist has previously resided in an antiquated style, but recently switched studios and embraced a host of new recording techniques. The results blur time and tide, switching styles and crafting something that sluices together different time c […]
    • Premiere: Tusks - 'For You' (BAILE Remix) September 26, 2016
A wistful ethereal re-work that thrives on suggestion...'For You' was many people's introduction to Tusks. Signed to One Little Indian, each release from Tusks seems to find her talent blossom still further, charting hitherto u […]
